What we saw there ourselves
We have been here several times, and three things stay with us every time: the team, the view and the system. The team thinks along rather than just working through a list – at a wedding you notice that in the twenty small things nobody mentions in the evening, because they went right. The barn has large windows to the outside, and the sound and lighting are properly built in – good enough that we bring nothing of our own.
An open roof truss: a lot of wood, a lot of height
The barn is open all the way up, the roof truss fully visible, with brick on the walls. That is why the room looks so good in the evening – and it is also why the sound here is a decision rather than an off-the-shelf setting. Wood and open rafters throw sound back differently than a flat ceiling, and how much of it arrives depends on how full the room is.
Sound and lighting are built in here, and we play through the venue's system – we bring none of our own. For you that removes a line item taken for granted everywhere else, and in the evening nothing of ours is standing in the room: no stands, no cable runs across the floor.
We still set it up. We are there about an hour and a half before your first guest and set the sound by ear against the empty room. We adjust once more later, when the seats are taken – a full room sounds different from an empty one, every single time.
You pick the caterer, the venue handles the drinks
The kitchen is not fixed here: you bring your own caterer, and Königshof runs the bar. That is more freedom than most venues allow – and it moves one job over to you that a venue otherwise handles in passing: the timings.
A plated menu takes longer than a buffet, and the handover from dinner into the evening is where celebrations tip over – the music is ready and the room is still seated. Pass us your caterer's schedule and we will place the first dance along it rather than against it.
Reception outside, party inside
In front of the barn there is the cobbled courtyard with benches and parasols, plus the panoramic terrace. Drinks reception, cigarette breaks and photographs happen out there while everything is already set up inside and nobody has to step over cables.
For the running order that mainly means the move back inside has to be set. People standing outside do not come in by themselves, and a room that fills over forty minutes has no beginning. When things start inside is agreed with you beforehand – and then actually held to.

Can we bring our own caterer?
Yes, catering at Königshof is your own choice; the venue runs the bar itself. What matters to us about that is mainly the timing – when dinner starts and when it is cleared decides when the evening begins.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Not at Königshof. Sound and lighting are built in there, and we play through the venue's system. We still set it up ourselves – by ear against the empty room, and once more when the seats are taken.
How many guests fit in the barn?
The Königshof team will give you the exact guest number for your seating layout. Once it is settled, we plan the dance floor and the running order around it.
How early do you arrive?
About an hour and a half before your first guest. The setup is finished before anyone arrives and the sound is matched to the room – not during the drinks reception.
